Herbs have a significant role in ancient Ayurveda. Herbs have healing properties and are used as part in most of the Ayurveda medicines. The healing agents in the herbs helps us to lead a healthy lifestyle. We can see a lot of herbs in our surroundings, and have tremendous applications in our daily life. Let us go through a few of them.
Tulsi: Tulsi is found in most of the houses and is considered as a holy plant. No special care is required to plant a tulsi plant in our yard. It has a lot of medicinal properties and used for healing gastric, urinary, cardiovascular, and reproductive issues. Tulsi is widely used for headache and allergy problems. It is also used in cosmetics for skin care and protection.
Turmeric: Turmeric is a spice, used in most of the Indian curries. Curcumin is the main compound in Turmeric and has powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It improves blood circulation and thereby protects against heart diseases. Compounds in Turmeric help to preserve brain functions by increasing BDNF(Brain-derived Neurotrophic Factor), which prevents diseases like Alzheimers and depression.
Ashwagandha: Researches proved that Ashwagandha reduces cortisol, a hormone that is produced in response to stress. For those who have anxiety disorder, Ashwagandha is the best medicine and provides improved sleep and reduces anxiety. It also enhances muscle growth, as well as lower blood sugar levels.
Brahmi: Brahmi is the best medicine for brain growth and has strong anti-inflammatory properties. As it improves learning rates, attention, memory and information processing it is preferred to give kids.
Amla: Amla, also known as Indian gooseberry has a lot of medicinal properties that include increase in immunity, protection of eyes, keeping body hydrated, and helping the boy get rid of toxins. Daily use of Amla is good for your body and helps to keep you refreshed
It is proved that Ayurvedic herbs are highly beneficial to the human body. It will help to maintain our physical and mental health if it is incorporated in our daily life.
